It is no secret that cosmetic surgery has become really popular these past few years, especially with women. The reason for that is that the operations have become a lot safer and more affordable than they were a few years ago, which means that they are no longer a luxury that only pop singers, movie stars and super models can afford. Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, up until recently was the most popular cosmetic surgery operation, but this has changed nowadays! Thousands of women all over the world undergo breast augmentation surgery every year.
The reason why a “boob job”, as this type of surgery is affectionately called, is so popular, is actually really simple: it helps women feel better about themselves and makes them more confident. In other words, it helps them feel more beautiful. By undergoing a breast augmentation surgery, the size and shape of a woman’s breasts will be modified and enhanced, with use of specially designed and perfectly safe breast implants, making them bigger and rounder and giving her the much coveted hourglass figure of movie stars and top models. As with all forms of cosmetic surgery it is highly recommended that you think about it really well before you decide to go through with it. The operation is not risky at all, but you will be making modifications to your self and this could change the way some people look at you! If you decide to through with it, here’s everything you’ll need to know about the procedure!
Well the first things you’ll need to do is visit a clinic and consult with a doctor. He will tell you everything there is to know about breast augmentation and how it’s done, as well as how many days you should expect to spend recovering and of course the costs of the procedure! Breast augmentation costs greatly vary between clinics, the most well known ones are naturally the most expensive, but they are also the best and most reliable. Also note that most likely you’ll need to make some changes to your lifestyle for the days leading up to your boob job and these may include giving up smoking and drinking alcohol for a few days or weeks!
Breast augmentation surgery is done with the use of total anesthesia and an anesthesiologist will be present throughout the entire procedure, so you won’t have to worry about feeling anything! Once the surgery is completed. You’ll need to spend some days resting and recovering and to allow the stitches to heal. After those days have passed, your doctor will remove your stitches and the new and improved you, will be able to return to work and every day activities!
How long do breast implants last?
The lifespan of the newer silicone implants is not known. It is expected that they will last at least 20 years given the many improvements in the manufacture of these implants. Saline implants also have a long life span. It is important to “overfill” these implants to diminish wrinkling which can weaken the envelope and cause leakage.
Length of breast augmentation surgery and recovery
Surgery takes about an hour and is usually done as an outpatient procedure in our certified surgicenter. We use American Board Certified Anesthesiologists to administer the anesthesia. Following this patients are observed and monitored in the recovery area for about two hours. For women who have medical problems surgery can be done at a nearby hospital. All patients receive Dr. Pacik’s personal contact information.
Follow-up care for our breast enlargement patients
Post-operative patients are followed without charge. Appointments are made after the surgery to teach breast mobility exercises and removal of pain control catheters. Suture removal is not needed because dissolving sutures are used. Further follow up appointments are generally done at about four months and again a year later, then as needed. Beyond one year very little follow up is required.
Breast enlargement surgery is one of the most satisfying operations performed. There is a very low rate of complications and patients are generally very happy with their appearance. “Touch up” procedures are almost never necessary because of the amount of time that was spent choosing the correct implants.
Complications from breast enlargement surgery are rare. It is always best to read your permit carefully and ask any questions to be sure you are properly informed. Though rare, any patient may require a trip back to the operating room because of bleeding. Since the 1970’s in over 2,000 patients no patient has required a blood transfusion. Infection is very uncommon. Distortion of the breasts is almost never seen.
