LiposuctionLiposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is known as lipoplasty and liposculpture. We have extensive experience performing liposuction for cosmetic purposes, both alone and in conjunction with other body sculpting procedures such as tummy tucks and body lifts.

Liposuction removes unwanted fat that isn’t affected by dieting and exercising, and can only target fat that is just below the skin (subcutaneous). Many areas of the body can be treated with liposuction, and during a single surgery more than one may be targeted. Areas that are commonly targeted include the following:

  • neck
  • upper arms
  • the male chest for gynecomastia
  • love handles
  • back
  • stomach
  • buttocks
  • hips
  • saddlebags (outer thighs)
  • inner thighs
  • around the knees
  • calves

Liposculpture is ideal for the removal of unwanted fat that is negatively affecting your body contour. It will help you get the slimmer and better proportioned body you’ve always wanted.

Please note that liposuction is not recommended as a replacement for healthy exercise and diet. The procedure is only for spot reduction procedure where fat is stubborn.

General Liposuction Surgical Procedure

LiposuctionLiposuction is usually performed under general anesthesia with sedation or under local. The type of anesthesia for you depends on the extent of correction.

One or more tiny incisions are made in the desired area, into which a narrow tube known as a cannula is inserted to reach unwanted fatty tissue beneath the skin, vacuuming it out. Once a sufficient amount of fat is removed to achieve the desired result, the incision(s) is dressed. The exact techniques for your procedure may vary depending on the technique used and your body.

Laser Liposuction in Russia

Traditional liposuction in Russia removes fatty deposits by utilizing a hollow metal tube, called a cannula, that is placed underneath the skin through a small incision. However, laser lipo is a minimally invasive procedure that breaks down accumulated fatty tissue cells with a laser that also promotes collagen growth. This leaves the skin looking tighter and also requires less recovery time. We perform laser lipo at our McLean facility that can be used to eliminate fat deposits in many different problematic areas.

By choosing to go with the less invasive laser lipo procedure, you can benefit from a faster recovery! While the typical liposuction means a recovery period of 8-10 weeks, you can return to physical activities, such as an exercise regime, after about 2 weeks. This innovative liposuction procedure we offer in McLean also results in minimal swelling, and almost no bruising, which is quite unlike normal liposuction.

Are you the right candidate?

Liposuction should not be treated as an alternative to dieting and exercising. People undergoing liposuction should be of sound health, following a regular diet and exercise regimen. They should be above 18 years age and should have pockets of fat deposits that pose problem to their posture and movement.

Recovery After Liposuction

A complete list of post-operative instructions will be given to you. Follow them closely to help your body recovery quickly and properly. You’ll most likely require plenty of rest and limit your movement. Dressings, applied immediately following surgery, will help the recovery process. You may also need to wear a support garment, also known as a compression garment, for a couple of weeks to maintain support. Any discomfort experienced following surgery can be minimized with prescribed oral medication. Complications are rare, and can be minimized by following post-operative care instructions carefully.

Points to be noted
  • Fix up the surgery with an expert surgeon
  • See that the right amount of fat is removed; excess removal will pose serious threats.
  • Take care to make the least disturbance to the neighboring body tissues ,blood vessel s and nerves
  • Maintain the right fluid balance of the patient’s body
  • Have a regular diet and workout regimen to maintain the body weight post operation.
